She is the one and only (ye ke?) debuting in more than five languages, moving ahead, bringing the Indian movie industry to greater heights and into the big business of hollywood, she is one of then, none other than the glamourous SHREYA SARAN. She is among the Indian actress who entered into multi-lingual Indian cinema industry which produces up to nearly 600-800 films a year of various languages. she is in more than five languages film industry inclusive of tollywood (telugu language), kollywood (tamil language), bollywood (hindi language), kannada film industry (kannada language) and also Hollywood.
Shreya Saran born in September 11 (tarikh bersejarah ni) 1982 is an Indian actress. She began her career acting in music videos while attending acting studio. Shreya's first opportunity in front of the camera came whilst she studied her second year at the LSR College in delhi, which she quit to participate for the shoot. Shreya first screen appearance was in the music video of Tirakthi Kyon Hawa, which she was given a chance to perform in by her dance teacher who had recommended her. The video shot prompt Ramoji Films to offer her the lead role in their film Ishtam. After her debut in Ishtam (2001), she gained Telugu cinema attention and in 2002 in Santhosham, her first major hit. Following that film, she appeared in several Telugu films with prominent actors and the same time making into Hindi and Tamil film industry. In 2007, Shreya became the national figure after her performance alongside with Super Star Rajinikanth in Sivaji: The Boss (most expensive film ever made in India at that time), after which she has signed several bollywood, kollywood and also hollywood film. She performs in leading heroine roles in high-budget films ranging from romantic comedies, drama, science fiction and also action films. Her most popular films include Santhosham (2002), Tagore (2003) and Sivaji: The Boss (2007). Shreya also made ads for brands like LUX and Head&Shoulders.
She made her Tamil movie debut in Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (2003). The film was an average hit at box-office, but it was more importantly a musical hit due to music composed by A. R. Rahman. She has made her comeback in Kollywood after a year in Tollywood through the film Mazhai. The movie did well at the box-office. She beat other top actresses for the lead role with Rajinikanth in Shankar's Sivaji: The Boss which is the most expensive Indian film till date after Dasavatharam. This pretty lady, whom for me has the characteristic of an actress to the range of hollywood. Whether her acting (is good or even satisfactory or worst maybe caused by ‘invalid’ expressions due to language barrier) is doubtful but the way she portrays herself in different roles and presents herself as an actress, breaking the traditional and homely type of actress rule, of course attracts many. Her dancing skills made her shine in most films making her songs usually super hits. However, some still do not like mainly coz of her brave attire choices unsuitable for the traditional Indian community and her invalid expressions. As she is currently becoming the famous actor in telugu and tamil, its better for her to learn the language and dub her own movies. Most of her tamil movies either performed fairly well or a super hit at the box office level, but she isn’t so lucky in tollywood facing up and downs. So we can look forward for her movies especially in tamil and English about 5 and 1 movie each in the near future. However, I like her because of her dancing skills and generally all her songs are usually hits. If you do have the chance to get a copy of her movies with subtitles do watch them. The Tamil movies which I would suggest are Sivaji and Azhagiya Tamizh Magan (both this films were screened in GSC, and only very few Tamil movies are screened, making a perception that only quality films make its way into GSC) and yes this movies are quality movies in terms of direction, music (slumdog millionaire fame AR Rahman) and technical terms.
